Here at highgrove we want everyone to be able to enjoy their equine friends so we try and create a happy and peaceful environment for the horses. If your equine friend has special requirements we will try to cater to his or her needs to the best of our ability. We are not a ‘one size fits all’ type of yard. We strongly feel that we can get the best out of our horses if they are happy and content and if our horses are happy and content so are their owners. Our motto is ‘happy horses happy people!’

We do take horses on backing/schooling/sales livery. Terri is BHS AI, and Philippa has had extensive dressage training up to grand prix level with her international coach, as well as lots of experience BE, BSJA, and county level showing with her own horses. She also has experience in the retraining of racehorses. We train all our horses using classical methods, no gadgets, gizmos, or short cuts. We aim to give each unbacked horse or pony a really good basis in the ground work and dailey aspects of life to build a strong level of trust and confidence before we proceed to the ridden aspect. We treat each one as an individual and will take the training process as quickly or as slowly as we feel they need. In our opinion nothing upsets a young horse more that being overfaced and unsure in the early stages of training. We want to produce confidant, well educated horses, that are keen to do their required job.
